Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation organized the International Day of Peoplewith Disability Disability Symposium for 2023-2024.
The ceremony took place at the Atatürk Congress and Culture Center; Vice Rector and also Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Murat Terzi, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Head Assoc. Dr. Nilay Çömük Balcı, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department students attended.
The program started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem; Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Murat TERZİ talked about the meaning of disability for healthcare professionals.
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Head Assoc. Dr. In her speech, Nilay ÇÖMÜK BALCI talked about what the concept of disability is as physiotherapists and what we can do professionally.
In the 1st session of the symposium program consisting of 2 sessions, Lecturer. Seda Nur KEMER "What is Disability? Disabled Rights", Lecturer. Sema GÜL gave speeches on the topics titled "Problems and Solutions of Physically Disabled People". In the 2nd session of the program, Ahmet Tayfur ARSLAN discussed disability from a different perspective in his speech titled "View of Life with Differences".
The symposium ended after questions and discussion.
